Klingle Farm Restoration Project

The restoration on the Klingle Farm is continuing ;the work, however, is progressing ever so slowly. I've photographed this farm in it's better days last year, before the trees and buildings came down and here is what's going on now in the Fall of 2009.
The experts have taken a look at the interior structure of the building. It's an interesting combination of ingredients that made this house stand at the time of the Civil War and still stands now.
Lathe and wood and bricks make up the elements that built one half of the house. The other section is stone.

This is a home that is in distress at the moment, but the National Park Service will restore it to it's former self.
We must not loose sight of the fact that real live people lived in this home and over the decades it aged, but not very well.

The Fall of 2009 saw more extensive renovations going on at the Klingle Farm. I've photographed this farm for quite some time now and I never get tired of looking at it, but I do have a sad feeling because I remember how it looked 2 years ago and now it is but a shadow of its former self.
The old red siding has been removed to reveal the logs underneath.
It looks eerily amazing from any angle.
These old windows may stay as part of the original house.
The following are photos of different angles of the house.

The portico/overhang above the door has been removed
On this side of the house an arbor grew and beyond that
in the field directly next to the house was a garden.
The shadow of the grape arbor can be seen. This tree is
now bare but will come alive again in the Spring.
